Strong Towns Richmond Hill Community Garden Springs Back to Life

The Strong Towns Richmond Hill Community Garden hosted its first planting day event of the year on Monday, April 27, with the park bustling with visitors enjoying the warm weather and lively atmosphere. Community garden volunteers spent the beautiful, sunny afternoon preparing the garden bed, planting early crops, and refreshing the garden space.
One of the highlights of the day was a conversation with a local neighbour who stopped by to share how much their young child looks forward to visiting the garden each time they’re in the park. They expressed excitement about seeing what will be grown this year -- a reminder of how the garden sparks curiosity and connection for all ages.
With strong community interest and a great turnout, the garden is off to a vibrant and promising season.
